Lower eyelid surgery with general anesthesia
Eyelid surgery, also known as eye lift or blepharoplasty, is being chosen by patients who want to reduce the bagginess of their lower eyelids and remove or tighten excess skin from the upper eyelids, as well as remove the fatty deposits from the eyelids. This plastic surgery is most often performed for cosmetic reasons, however, it may also be chosen as a way to improve sight, especially for older people, whose upper eyelids sag and get in the way of their vision. In some cases, especially for Asian people, this surgery may be used to create a crease in the eyelid, when it is missing.
The result of eyelid surgery is a smoother, more youthful face. Depending on the eyelid specifics and patient’s expectations, operating surgeon may recommend a full eyelid surgery (upper and lower), or just upper/lower eyelid surgery.

Simple blepharoplasty surgery usually takes about 1 hour. In cases where both – upper and lower- eyelids are operated, the surgery may take 2-3 hours depending on the complexity of the surgery.
