Scar сorrection

The scars develop after traumas, burns and surgeries. The distinct scars in the open body areas result in poor aesthetic appearance and psychological discomfort. There different methods to remove the scars: – by laser or injections. When other procedures fail, a surgical scar correction is possible.

How the surgery is performed?

The surgery is done under the local anaesthesia. The altered rough and very distinct scar is resected and a new even less visible scar is made instead. All efforts are made during the surgery to uniform the scar colour and its texture with the adjacent skin. It is important to understand that complete scar eradication  is not possible, a plastic surgery can help to reduce the scar and to make it less noticeable.

Postoperative period

  • The sutures are removed on Day 10-14 after the surgery
  • The surgery site should be protected from water for up to 2 weeks.
  • Avoid physical activity for 3-4 weeks after the surgery;
  • Protect your scars from the direct sun light for up to6 months after the surgery to avoid  scar discolouration and to make them less noticeable.
