Transanal Hemorrhoidal Dearterialization (THD)

Haemorrhoid’s removal surgery by THD (TRILOGY) technique - is a minimally invasive surgical treatment for all grades of haemorrhoids, involving ligation of blood  vessels that bring arterial blood to haemorrhoids and repositioning of prolapsed haemorrhoids at their original site.

About HAL-RAR technique in brief:

  • without tissue resection, open wounds and pain;
  • The surgery lasts about 20-30 minutes;
  • rapidly restored working capacity;
  • The surgery that has been successfully done worldwide.

How works HAL-RAR?

The Doppler ultrasound device is gently introduced into the rectum.

An audible signal allows the surgeon to locate the arteries supplying blood to the haemorrhoids. The surgeon ligates each pulsating artery. As the procedure is carried out in the lower part of the rectum free of pain nerves rather than in the anal part, the procedure causes minimal pain and discomfort both during and after the surgery.

The ligations serve to reduce the arterial blood supply, causing the haemorrhoidal cushions to shrink back to normal size. The symptoms of haemorrhoids resolve in few weeks.

In case of grade III or IV haemorrhoids the RAR (Recto Anal Repair) technique is applied for reposition of prolapsing haemorrhoids.

At the begging a running suture from the top downward is formed. The device allows to make it very precise. The ends of the newly formed sutures are pulled and tied up together to obtain lifting effect.

Thus, the haemorrhoidal cushion is repositioned in its anatomical location. Finally, the haemorrhoidal tissues heal up and integrate with the rectal tissues.
